  3. 6. Love Theme From Spartacus 7. So What Before making a final purchase decision check out Bill Evans with the Flutists: What's New / Nirvana, which contains this album as well as Evans' collaboration with Herbie Mann. On that album you can compare and contrast the vastly different styles and musical approaches of two great flautists/5(5).
  4. Bill Evans is my favorite jazz player ever. Gomez and Morrell are wonderful contributors. When I bought this back in the LP days I had no idea who Jeremy Steig is, but I had to have it because of Evans and more importantly it had another iteration of my favorite Evans track ever, the love theme from Spartacus as done on Conversations With Myself/5(24).
  5. Seven tracks, total running time approx. 42 mins. Classic jazz tracks, include Autumn Leaves, What`s new, Spartacus Love Theme, So What, and others. Bill Evans is so comfortable and experienced with these familiar compositions, that he appears relaxed, imaginative, and also seems to be really enjoying the extra dimension provided by Steig on Flute/5(24).
  6. Repress from the later 70s. Recorded at Webster Hall, New York, January 30, Fevruary , March 11, Made in Germany4/5(5).

  8. This is certainly an underrated recording and sound quality are simply outstanding. Bill Evans, Eddie Gomez and Jeremy Steig are performing at their best, offering endless goosebumps.
